Poker Hall of Fame - Famous Names

Poker is the most famous casino game in the world, so it is not surprising that the world of poker has lots of poker hall of famers. Players included within the hall of fame are poker players who do incredible job and amazing poker play in their time. World Series of Poker and Governing Council already announced the names of those players included in the top ten Poker Hall of Fame of 2012. Last year, Barry Greenstein and Linda Johnson were given the induction. The following are nominees with information about them from WSOP.

The Most Famous Poker Players

First is Chris Bjorn, he is already 64 years old and a Swedish, but residing in London, England. This player already earned almost $5 million by just playing poker. He is a 2 time WSOP gold bracelet winner and he hold 5th at all-time WSOP cash list out of 65. He also holds the record as a Swedish with large money and amazing cash records. This player is no doubt that he is one of best player in poker around the world.

The second one is David Chiu and he is born in China, but decided to move to the United States. David is only 18 years old when he moved to the US as an exchange student. He started as dealer right before he became the most renowned poker tournament player in the history of poker. At the age of 52, he already became the 4-time WSOP gold bracelet winner and he won Seven Card Stud, Limit Hold’em and Omaha Eight in total of 54 WSOP events. The success of this poker player goes beyond WSOP, because he also won in Gus Hansen during 2008 at WPT World Championship. Chiu already earned $3.3 million by playing in different tournaments over the course of his entire career. Chiu has reaped $7.5 million for the course of 15 years of playing poker.

Another is Eric Drache. It is impossible not to recognize his achievement in the world of poker as he won many world renowned poker tournaments over the years. He is a popular Seven Card Stud player and he had made 5 WSOP final tables and finished in top 3. Aside from playing at WSOP for more than 3 decades, he also served as a tournament director during 1970s. At his time, he came up with a new concept and introduced satellite events that changed the landscape of poker tournament. His became card room manager of famous casinos such as Golden Nugget, Bellagio and Mirage that helped to make Las Vegas poker exciting. Today Drache also handles television poker and he served as a consultant in different poker productions.

These are just three of the finalist for this Hall of Fame. Each nominee is worthy of their place at the top ten. Being at the Hall of Fame is the best achievement that a poker player can get.
